summer 2010: our picnic.

this summer i made a list of things i wanted to do or accomplish. there were originally eighteen things, then i crossed off one, and added another. later, i crossed that one off too. i later crossed off three more things. (somethings just weren't going to happen.) but this is the record of one thing that did happen.

another thing i wanted to do this summer was have a picnic. i hadn't been on one for a long time and it sounded fun. i wrote it down, talked to the mother, and then a date was decided.

we went to pavillions to get some sandwiches, sodas, and chicken fingers and fries. we grabbed the blanket and camera out of the car, and we walked down to the park.

it was delightful. the weather was perfect, it was sunny and warm and breezy. i enjoyed being in the company of my mother and sister. i enjoyed looking up and seeing this:

basically, i just enjoyed myself.

i love picnics. especially in the summertime.

p.s.- there are less than five days until i go back to school. boo. i wish summer could last forever.

We have this big fancy sprinkler/kiddy pool in one of the parks in my town. I remember my dad taking us (us being me and my sister) to the sprinklers and bringing a picnic...unfortunately, our dad was a health freak, so we mostly had just vegetables...

Now I really (like... really REALLY) want to have a picnic. The last one I had was in a park on a sunny Saturday afternoon after cross country practice, eating fruit and ice cream. It was nice. Yours does sound quite delightful as well. :)
